Fire/Water concert..

I am having a wonderful time time enjoying Holly's adventure in the Columbus Children's Choir.  We just returned from a performance along the river bank in downtown Columbus.  She sang with her choir at the Columbus Fire/Water exhibition.  Totally cool!!  I had never been to the Fire/Water exhibition before and it was really a great time!! As usual, the choir was amazing!!  Now, we get a small break before the new choir season begins in August!!  Yay!!

junque journals..part 2

Hey,
Today I'm excited to finally get to show you the incredible junque journal that was made for me by my friend Diana over at www.ddesignspaperpearls.blogspot.com.  This is an amazing, amazing book.  If you don't believe me, just take a look at the cover!!  Love it!!  So much detail!!  Each page is SO COOL!!   I really can't say enough about this journal, except for a big big "Thank You"!!  I love the book and I'm really looking forward to all the fun I will have playing with each page!  YAY!!  Below are my photos of the book.  What you don't know though, is that along with the journal, Diana also sent me a RAK of totally cool charms, ribbons, and a ton of tags that she made with some really fantastic stamps!!  Love them all!!
Thank you again Diana!!

Junque journals!!

Ok,
In my last post, I mentioned that I had exchanged a junque journal with my friend Diana over at www.ddesignspaperpearls.blogspot.com.  The book I got back from Diana was amazing!!  More on that later, however, because today I'm gonna show you the book I made for her.  This was my first ever junque journal.  The idea was to create a book that she could just play along with and enjoy.  No rules.  She can alter, rip, paint, take apart, whatever.  I used a lot of scraps and stamps in this book,  and I tried some new techniques as well.  Photo transfering was so cool!!   It worked!!  I am definately going to play with that idea again.  I also used my stencils and paints and inks and oh whatever I could find.  I added vintage pieces, old book pages, handmade paper, metal, postcards, etc.. I love the book.  I think it turned out more "art journal" than "junque journal", but thats where the process took me with this project.  Tomorrow I will have pictures of the incredible junque journal that was made for me.  Awesome!! I can not say enough about how amazing was the journal that I received.  Enjoy..

Time to catch up!!

Wow!!  Was my last post really in April?  Where has the time gone?  Things just seem to always be constantly moving when you have 3 amazingly active kids (even during the summer I'm finding out..).  Not that I'm complaining.  I love every moment.  School is finally out and my son has already finished one summer camp.  Holly (my 12 year old) is a proud member of the Columbus Children's choir and just came back from a 3 day trip to Otterbein College where she was a member of the OCDA Children's Honor Choir.  The concert was yesterday and it blew me away!!  150 of the best children's choir singers from around Ohio put on the most amazing concert.  In 3 days of living on campus (plus 2 earlier Saturday rehearsals..) they performed a french folk song, a song in latin, a traditional zulu dowry song, and a few american folk songs.  Fabulous!!  On the crafting front, I have had a lot of fun playing and making some really cool stuff.  My good friend Diana (ddesignspaperpearls.blogspot.com) and I came up with a really fun idea to make each other a junque journal.  I absolutely LOVE what she made for me!!  I was completely blown away.  Totally amazing!!  I'm so excited to play in her book, but I have been waiting to download photos of her book first.  I'm hoping to catch up on all my photos in the next few days.  And I have a lot to show you :).  But for today, I leave you with some pictures of the OCDA Children's Honor Choir.  Love you Holly!!  You did amazing!!  Enjoy...
